Pink Love - WEBI cannot begin to explain my lightness today, despite my daughter’s strep throat, a less-than-amusing call with Comcast this morning, my son’s stinky sneakers that are probably ruined, and a severely burnt pancake on the stove that has created this film of sexy smoke throughout the entire house – our rental – no, we don’t know where exactly we are going yet, but you know what? I am beyond grateful that the aforementioned are my greatest problems right now.  My family is (mostly) healthy, we live in a safe, wonderful community, and we are together.  My family is together and that’s all that I need.

Today I had the privilege of colliding with what one might call a bunch of “coincidental” blessings, and others might call them “Divine Intervention”. Whatever you call it, I absolutely am in complete awe of our community and the extending of hands from friends, family, business owners, and complete strangers.

About a week ago I found out that a little girl on the South Shore, whos princess party I had the privilege of hosting two years ago, was in need of a “special” birthday this year. Her dad has been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, and this may be her last birthday with him and with her family unit as she knows it.  I remember the family, I remember the train table down in the basement, I remember Abby’s face lighting up when she put on her princess gown.  I am deeply moved by this news, and at the same time, deeply grateful for my home, my husband, my children, friends, and now, for my community. My parents are both in remission from cancer, and I remember the terrifying ache that came with the news. As hard as it was, this family’s news, to me, is unimaginable.

We will be donating a very special birthday bash to Abby and to her family who have been through hell this past year, and for their neighbors, family and friends who have been there to support them. The “Pajama Jam” will include lots of food, games, crafts and so many other fun things.  We fully expect ALL invited attendees to arrive IN THEIR JAMMIES! Kids and adults alike.  While we can’t promise “no frills” (we do specialize in that, you know?!), we wanted to create a totally laid back, FUN, warm environment for Abby, her dad, her family and friends to come together. Let me tell you, I NEVER expected to get the kind of reception that I have gotten.  From venue spot to invitations to cakes to photography, games, and monetary donations, and people just wanting to be a set of hands on the special day, it is amazing to see this kind of service and help that has come out of the woodwork.  We are not quite there yet as far as having everything we need, but within THREE days I had photography donations (4 of them!), videography, chocolate fountain, monetary donations, offers to be helping hands, and today… I was just blown away at how “Something” out there is taking care of this family… I made one call yesterday and this morning got a call from the Red Lion Inn in Cohasset who said they would love to donate the space, and THEN I somehow managed to score a professional DJ in BLOCKBUSTERS, of all places! Ha! That was funny to me.   It is all just falling right in my lap…I guess that’s how it works, doesn’t it?

jjjj
SO today I am completely grateful. It’s very true that gratitude and contentment do NOT come from our hunt for happiness, but rather from service to others.  It’s just so true.

To donate to this special event, please use PayPal and send to Sharon@PrincessSharon.com OR email me about donating through check, credit card, or to discuss a service that you would like to offer.

Thank you so much to everyone who is helping to make Abby’s special day magical!

So it’s almost fall…I can smell it in the air!  I actually can’t smell much because the princess has a cold.  Fortunately we live, at the moment, behind the school where my son attends first grade.  That makes it easier. The biggest thing going on around here is that I can actually blog! Yes, I no longer, due to the start of first grade, have two small children climbing on me, around me, and demanding all of my attention (sigh…I do miss it..just a little).  I now have some free time. 9-3 to be precise. My little princess, Aizza, who is 4 is as easy as pie and entertains herself every breathing, waking moment. Low-maint city.  She’s adorable, fun, and I can’t get enough of her.  I adore my son too, but let’s just say, he’s not a piece of cake…or pie, or whatever.  He is better these days now that he’s a “big boy.”

I am so excited about what’s to come.  I don’t actually know what it is, but I always feel like new, wonderful things are coming when I can smell that crisp air.  We are going to be moving to another castle, as my husband’s a builder (of castles and such), we just don’t know exactly where.  Cohasset, Scituate, NH, Boston?  This princess needs to be able to party (well, run the party COMPANY anyway), wherever she goes. So it has to be somewhere where people love to throw a serious party (oh, I guess that’s anywhere! Lucky me!)

__

I’m also very excited to be offering new items in my birthday party favor and gift shop!  We have gorgeous new felt tea sets and wings (see below) and will be adding TONS of fun things over the next few weeks and months.  We are even thinking about opening a whole new online website strictly dedicated to birthday party favors and gifts! Exciting!

We were so excited to be able to, once again, work with the Upstairs on the Square in Cambidge Mass for another Princess Sharon children’s birthday party event!  We hosted our new “Fantastical Fairy Garden Party,” a full out fairy garden explosion with beyond fanciful cupcakes, hand sewn elaborate costumes (fern-fairy skirts, tops and headpieces, and plush hand-sewn wings), twinkling wands, fairy house building, and tons of other garden fairy birthday fun!!  Check out the amazing photographs by Thea Coughlin Photography.  Thea is an amazing photographer who came from Albany NY to capture this amazing event! The Upstairs in the Square, as always, did a spectacular job setting the scene, prepping the delicious food, and making all of us here at Princess Sharon feel right at home!  All of the girls had a “fantastical” time in our colorful garden! Thank you once again, Carissa, at Designingfresh. Carissa provides spectacular boutique web design and is responsible for the Princess Sharon website.
